For Sale! Reverse Draft offset bbq pit/smoker/grill.
Built by AVESCO, a trailer manufacturer, in 2004. Offset
firebox is built from 1/4" plate steel and is 2'x2'x2' square.
Firebox heat is horizontally drafted to opposite end by a
1/4" thick plate. Cooking chamber/grate is 28" deep x 60"
long from 10 gage steel. Grate is located about 8" above
reverse plate. Grate is in 3 sections of expanded metal
built on 1" square tube. High temp wire handles throughout.
Can be used as a direct grill with charcoal on the
reverse plate. Pit hums along great at 250-275 burning
logs. Heat is usable and even compared to non-baffled pits.
Has 4" Tel-Tru themometer with 9" probe just
under grate. Dual 4.5" id stacks on bifucated exhaust area of firebox. Very unique
stack mounting setup.
Great airflow & very clean burning. Designed to burn logs.
Overall dimensions: 48" wide by 126" long w/ tongue extended.
Titled in Illinois as a trailer with plates. Now has white spoke
wheels. Has bearing buddies, and functional lights. Has side
opening doors and slide in tongue for convenient home storage.
Can be moved easily by hand. Tows like a dream with anything. Perfect for competitions, tailgating, fundraisers, parties etc.
Pit is designed to be big enough for contests and small enough for home use. With a weed burner
the pit can be fired to 250 degrees in about 20 minutes.
Price is $1,700.00-FIRM.
I am selling because I have
a similar, but bigger pit to use for contests and intend to buy
an Ole Hickory CTO for home use. Wife says I can't have 3 pits in the garage.
Pit is located in Breese, ILLinois about 40 miles east of St. Louis.
See pictures on following pages showing construction in 2004 and from March 2008.
